Wow, we love the build outs in the mudroom of the different types of storage for kids. We had lockers built in the mud room so now my sons when they come home from sports and take off their muddy clothes and shoes and not drag mud into the house.
It's great because they leave their dirty shirts and pants and my wife throws them in the was and puts them back into their assigned spot when they're clean.
No more looking around the house for shirts, pants and whatever just to find they haven't been cleaned because they didn't put them in the wash.
I highly recommend building these mudrooms with lockers and cubbies.

I couldn't agree more about kids and their need for storage. I've always been a fan of lockers in the mudroom and being that I'm on the East Coast my kids know that they have to enter the house through the mudroom on the way home from sports or after playing outside. It's great because they know to leave there jacket out there, shoes and even sports equipment, my boy plays baseball.
Now we leave a robe out there so he can leave his dirty closes that go right into the wash and my wife puts the clean items back in the mudroom when they're clean. No more searching around the house for items that go into their specific place in the mudroom!

Great posts and blog. I've worked with both composite decking and wood decking for many years. Primarily composite (trex, timber-tech, tamco, evergrain) I started building decks using Trex and was led to believe it was the most amazing thing to ever hit decking, long story short I've had to replace a ton of composite decks due to deterioration. Not just Trex, Evergrain, timber-tech, have all had some issues. It's definetly hit or miss, most are still in exellent condition. They do come with the life time warranty unfortunatly that only covers material not instulation. another con to composite is how hot it gets in the summer when the sun is beating on it. Composite decking isn't bad, but definetly isn't as wonderful as they make it out to be. It all comes down to what looks and works best for the owner of the home.

'Thank you for this weblog. That's all I can say. You most definitely have made this blog into something thats eye opening and essential. You clearly know so much about the subject, youve covered so many bases. Great stuff from this particular part of the internet. Again, thank you for this weblog."
